Description:
You will be a Sheet Metal Operator Setup (2nd Shift) for our team in Archbald, PA. Lockheed Martin's Archbald facility specializes in design, manufacturing, and engineering for both domestic and international customers, delivering high‑quality products for aerospace and defense programs.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Sheet Metal Operator Setup, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lays out work, establishing reference points, center lines and guide lines; makes allowances for bends and machining, measuring with scales, calipers and micrometers, and uses scribers, center punches, surface gauges, dividers, etc., to mark material.
- Installs hardware such as inserts, rivets, standoffs, gaskets, nameplates and other mechanical components in sheet‑metal and machined parts using pneumatic, hydraulic, electric and hand tools and machinery (riveters, fasteners, setters, presses, spot welders, grinders, Helicoil installation tools, etc.).
- Performs necessary hand operations, such as filing, scraping, straightening and mechanical assembly.
- Programs, sets up and operates numerical‑control equipment, bending rolls and machines, power and hand shears, Do‑All saws, brakes, nibblers, punch presses, turret punch presses, drill presses, radial drills, etc., and various hand grinders to shape and alter sheet metal to specifications.
- May be required to turn the machine over to a machine attendant or operator, giving necessary instructions for proper production of parts and work area.
- Uses various hand tools (files, hammers, scrapers, wrenches, etc.) and measuring instruments (plug gauges, snap gauges, indicators, verniers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.).
- Interprets CAD data, prints and sketches and follows written manufacturing instructions (MI’s) and/or verbal instructions.
- Performs minor preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Collaborates with other personnel to train or teach sheet‑metal and assembly techniques to improve efficiency and quality.
- Interfaces with supervision, engineering, production control and program management to plan and set up departmental tasks to achieve program schedules.
- Receives and, when assigned, provides cross‑training for other tasks related to department functions and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in precision sheet metal fabrication operating shears, brakes, laser cutters, punch press, band saws, deburring tools, etc. or assembling mechanical components in sheet metal and machined parts using pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, hand tools and machinery.
Experience in programming, set up and operate conventional and CNC brake press for fabrication of precision formed components.
Full understanding of brake tooling, bend allowance, bend deduction, and usage of precision measuring devices.
Proficient using hand tools for burr removal and metal finishing.
Can read and understand complex blueprints and sketches with respect to various assembly and metals forming and differentiation between thread sizes, pitch, metric and standard threads.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access, therefore U.S. citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
Operated PEM machines, CNC Punch Presses, Laser Cutters, Spot welder, tapping machines and vertical drill presses.
Preventative machine maintenance experience.
Ability to set up, qualify and run spot welding equipment in accordance with specified procedures.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
