Job Responsibilities
Description:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director and Associate General Counsel – Investigations, to lead our Global Legal Investigations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and conducting complex and sensitive investigations into allegations of misconduct, provide counsel on legal and regulatory issues, and oversee Lockheed Martin’s FAR mandatory disclosure program. The Director will work closely with senior leadership, other legal elements, ethics, security, internal audit, human resources, compliance, and other enterprise stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, and promote a culture of ethics and integrity. The selected candidate will be a member of the Compliance Center of Excellence team within the Legal Department and report to the Vice President, Chief Compliance Counsel.
What you’ll be doing:
• Conduct and oversee investigations, including gathering evidence and analyzing data
• Lead a team of investigators and provide guidance and development opportunities
• Determine the need for attorney-client privilege and conduct investigations accordingly
• Lead the company's response to government investigations and provide legal counsel on reporting matters
• Manage the company's FAR mandatory disclosure program
• Manage outside counsel when needed
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to investigations and compliance
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies
• Provide briefings and reports to senior leadership on investigation status and findings
• Ensure all investigations are conducted in a fair, impartial, thorough, timely, and forensically sound manner
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to investigations and compliance
Who are you:
You are a highly skilled lawyer with experience at a top law firm, with the government as a prosecutor, and/or in-house at a multi-national company, and have a strong background in conducting complex investigations. You have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate with internal stakeholders. You are a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of industry trends and regulatory requirements, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple investigations, and meet deadlines. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Basic Qualifications:
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school, admitted to practice law and member in good standing in at least one state
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience (e.g., investigations, internal audit, compliance, or a related field)
• Proven experience leading high-risk, complex investigations and managing investigation teams involving the FCA, TINA, FCPA and other anti-corruption regulations, accounting fraud, procurement fraud, and/or other government contracting regulations
• Strong knowledge of investigation techniques, including interviewing, evidence collection, and data analysis
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Top Secret/SCI security clearance
• Ability to work onsite in Bethesda, Maryland, with limited telework opportunities
• Ability to travel as necessary
Desired Skills:
• Experience working in a large, complex organization, preferably in the aerospace and defense industry
• Experience at a top law firm, with the government as a prosecutor, and/or in-house at a multi-national company
• Experience handling complex investigations or litigation involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other anti-corruption regulations, accounting fraud, procurement fraud, cross-border investigations, and/or the False Claims Act
• Experience handling classified matters
• Background in U.S. government contracting

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $287,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
