Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems’ C4ISR team is looking for a proven and experienced AWS Infrastructure Architect to support a one‑of‑a‑kind Cross Business Area campaign that exemplifies our commitment to our OneLM Strategy.
The Work
- Architecture & Design – Define the end‑to‑end AWS architecture (core services, networking, security, disaster recovery) using Well‑Architected Framework principles. Produce high‑level and detailed design artifacts (diagrams, IaC code, security baselines) in alignment with MBSE models (Cameo → DOORS NEXT).
- Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) – Build reusable, version‑controlled IaC templates using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Implement modular pipelines that provision environments (dev, test, staging, production) automatically via GitLab CI / Jenkins.
- Data Lake & Analytics Platform – Architect the AWS Data Lake (S3, Lake Formation, Glue, Athena, Redshift, QuickSight) to ingest, catalog, and serve LM and 3rd‑party data streams. Enable real‑time ingestion pipelines, MSK/Kafka, EventBridge) for AI/ML model trainingbr/>
- Collaboration & Mentorship – Work closely with Lead C2/HMI Engineer, AI/ML Engineers, UX Designer, and Integration & Test (I&T) teams to validate that infrastructure supports functional and performance test cases. Provide technical guidance and training to cloud engineers, DevSecOps staff, and partner vendors.

Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years in cloud architecture with a focus on AWS; at least 4 years designing and operating large‑scale data‑lake or analytics platforms for mission‑critical applications.
- B.S. Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field (M.S. preferred).
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (required).
- Deep knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, MSK, Lake Formation, Glue, Redshift, Athena, SageMaker, IAM, VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect).
- Strong IaC expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
- Proficiency with scripting (Python, Bash) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Experience with Zero‑Trust networking, multi‑account structures, and AWS Organizations.
Desired Skills:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional and/or AWS Certified Security – Specialty are a plus.
- Experience with MBSE integration (Cameo → DOORS NEXT) to feed architecture data automatically.
- Prior work on AI/ML pipelines that serve real‑time inference to operator interfaces.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling (SonarQube, Snyk, OWASP ZAP) and secure software development life‑cycle.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $139,600 - $246,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
