Description:

You will be the Quality Engineer for the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Program. Our team is responsible for delivering missile systems and launch Will Be Doing


As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for driving production‑quality initiatives, resolving complex process issues, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure flawless delivery.


Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Identify and develop production strategies that reduce non‑conformances and improve yield for the GMLRS program.

  • Review documentation and program plans to guarantee that internal and external manufacturing processes meet quality requirements.

  • Support product testing, inspections, stock purges, root‑cause analysis, audits, and continuous‑improvement activities at multiple sites.

  • Lead or participate in material‑review board meetings, disposition non‑conforming hardware in SAP, and drive effective corrective actions.

  • Facilitate and perform ISO‑9001 / AS‑9100 audits, lead DD250 efforts, and interface with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality issues.

Security Clearance Requirement


MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.


Basic Qualifications:
STEM degree at the Bachelors level or above

Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance

Experience developing quality standards, plans, methods, work instructions, and procedures for the inspection of manufactured or procured products

Able to interpret drawings and specifications to apply quality test, inspection methods and work instructions

Ability to support and report/ status multiple ongoing projects at once

Demonstrated understanding of Compliance audit techniques, AS9100 and production line validations

Ability to work independently in job tasks and problem solve using critical thinking skills

Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Demonstrated ability to use Causal Analysis tools

Experience in disposition of non-conforming products

Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Effective strong presentation and communication skills, written, oral, listening, technical writing

Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration

Experience interacting with Suppliers, Production Sites, Quality Program Management, Technical Operations, Manufacturing, Government Representatives, or other stakeholders

Ability to travel 10% - 25%

Ability to work a flexible schedule
Desired Skills:
Experience with SAP Application

Experience with Apriso

Experience with DD250

Experience as Lead Auditor

Experience Leading or Initiating Strategic Initiatives

Experience with Hardware Inspections (i.e. mechanical, electrical, composites)

Experience with Technical Drawing, Change Notice, Change Request, Change Proposal Reviews

Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements or PPAP

Experience working with Government Customers

Experience working Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Production Sites

Experience working Shop Floor Quality Assurance/ Control

Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying trends and process improvement (including usage/ integration of Artificial Intelligence)

Experience with Failure Review Boards and Corrective Action Boards

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
