Job Responsibilities
Description:The Senior Manager also known as a Section Manager shall operate across multiple Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control sites, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and process improvement in the areas of integration and test. This role is responsible for developing people, establishing best‑practice processes, and implementing tooling that enhances our engineering workforce and program outcomes. This role resides in the Engineering & Technology and under the Integration, Test & Evaluation (IT&E) Department.
Technical Leadership:
- Support and provide guidance for integration‑test activities for assigned programs, ensuring compliance with system requirements and schedule.
- Provide and train expert guidance on test plan development, test execution, data analysis, and root‑cause resolution.
- Support program reviews for technical execution and to meet program milestones
- Enable capabilities to drive digital transformation to help programs be affordable and efficient.
People Development:
- Design and deliver technical training modules (hands‑on labs, classroom sessions, e‑learning) for engineers and program staff.
- Mentor junior engineers, facilitating skill‑building rotations and career‑path planning.
Processes & Tools:
- Identify, document, and implement best‑practice processes for integration, test, and verification across directorates.
- Evaluate, select, and deploy test automation tools, data‑management systems, and reporting dashboards.
Cross Directorate Collaboration:
- Partner with Engineering Section Managers from other directorates to standardize workforce development practices.
- Coordinate rotation programs, knowledge‑transfer initiatives, and joint technical reviews.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive Kaizen‑style improvements in test efficiency, reliability, and data integrity.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to enterprise‑wide engineering knowledge bases.
Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in system integration and test, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Prior experience in organizational design, talent development, and talent balancing in an engineering personnel management role.
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication; ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
Desired Skills:
• Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, data acquisition systems, etc.)
• Experience in automated test frameworks (Python, LabVIEW, DOORS, etc.)
• Knowledge in circuit card designs or FPGAs/programmable logic
• Familiarity with configuration management and model based test design
• Experience presenting to LM executive staff, Chief Engineers, and equivalent government counterparts
• Experience supporting Failure Review Boards and Corrective Action Incorporation
• Experience as a Leader of Leaders
• Significant presentation experience
• Experience interacting with Talent Acquisition and leading interviews
• Experience with the full hiring process (tools, recruiter interaction, hiring process) and with the separation process (normal resignation/separations and with HR assisted processes)
• Experience leading performance management discussions and performance assessments
• Test architecture experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
