Description:If you enjoying coaching and mentoring a team, developing and executing a portfolio of electro-mechanical projects critical to our nation, our Electro-Mechanical team needs you! This is an opportunity to work closely alongside our Denver site partners to develop electronics hardware that the nation urgently needs.




What does this role look like?

• As a Site Manager within our Electronics Packaging department, you will have responsibilities for electronics packaging development including mechanical design, stress and thermal analysis, and electronics and mechanical CAD (drawing development and release).
• You will lead a team of Avionics and RF electronics packaging engineers and develop internal customer relationships to ensure program commitments are established and met.
• You are a leader who is disciplined in project management principles, value-driven Systems Engineering and who is able to drive design evolution in a systematic and thoughtful way. You will be accountable for working with Program Managers and CAMs to execute electronics development efforts while properly balancing cost, schedule, and scope constraints.




Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

• Execution accountability for electro-mechanical tasks across customer areas including Commercial, Civil, Military, and classified. Planning and oversight of assigned design efforts (to include Service Level Agreement creation and management).
• Scope of activities include all business phases: Capture, Non-recurring development, Recurring support, producibility improvements, troubleshooting, and post-delivery support.
• Production support (e.g. lead team to resolve hardware discrepancies such as Vendor Requests for Information/Changes, Quality Non-conformances or engineering drawing updates).
• Chairing weekly team meeting to discuss technical issues, schedule issues etc.
• Weekly status chart package and reporting to program and Central Engineering management.
• You will also have Functional Management responsibility for the execution team.




Specific tasks include:

• Ensure Electro-Mechanical staffing needs are met across the Line of Business. Work closely with the LOB to establish and maintain an accurate forecast of Electro-Mechanical resource needs.
• Manage employee performance: Set expectations, provide coaching and mentoring, provide tools and training, deliver informal and formal performance feedback.
• Employee career development: Support the career development goals of your employees.
• Execution excellence: Process development, adherence, and data-driven continual improvement.




Please Note:

• Location: Although this position does support some teleworking; the selected candidate will need to be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton CO, and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.
• While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

• Experience leading the development of high-reliability avionics products..

• Electronics enclosure design experience.
Desired Skills:
• Project Leadership/Management Experience throughout the engineering life cycle: scoping, sizing, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, staffing, tracking and earned value management.
• Direct experience with supporting flight production (manufacturing and test).
• Must demonstrate leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives.
• Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
• Preparation for and participation in major program design reviews (PDR, CDR).
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving enterprise technical issues.
• Experience in presentation, oral and written communication to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges employees, co-workers, leaders, and customers.
• Proven understanding of electronics standards and processes.
• Ability to communicate how and why a design meets specified requirements both in writing and verbally.
• Earned Value Management experience.
• Risk and Change Management experience.
• Systems Engineering experience.
• Experience managing managers of managers.
• Must be a strategic-level thinker.
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
