The Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) program is one of Lockheed Martin’s outstanding programs that prioritizes partnership, integrity, and reliability. Lockheed Martin is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Huntsville, AL to support the LRHW Program Production Operations (Prod Ops) team. This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer supporting assembly integration and test (AI&T) operations including prototype and retrofit activities. This position could require some travel and support to other manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include, but not limited to leading the technical team daily to meet engineering requirements, schedule, cost commitments and providing production status to leadership.
Scope of responsibilities will include:
• Providing shop floor support, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process within an electrical/mechanical manufacturing facility.
• Accomplish results by utilizing multi-functional team, including Technicians, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, MRP/Parts Production Control, and Finance to meet program needs
• Providing guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome.
• Creating procedures and operations for the fabrication and/or rework of hardware.
• Translate engineering drawings and parts lists into easy-to-follow work instructions for the production floor.
• Writing production planning, inspecting and assessing defective hardware, and optimizing production flow to meet program deliverables.
• Interfacing with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements to gain efficiencies and represent manufacturing in peer reviews of engineering drawings to enhance the design for manufacturability.
• Contact with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other personnel in the section or group.
• Travel to other sites as needed to support manufacturing.
Basic Qualifications:
• Understanding of procedures, work instructions, technical writing or similar with technical publications
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings, bills of material, schematics, and specifications
• Possess or have the ability to be approved for a SECRET security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Aerospace or defense systems, electrical, mechanical assembly experience or experience in a similar hardware type processing facility.
• Previous manufacturing experience involving assembly integration and test or similar types of processes.
• Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent processes (Manufacturing Work Instructions, Routings, Production Orders, Bill of Materials, Qnotes, FOE/FOD, etc.).
• Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent tools (ERP/SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, etc.)
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
