Lockheed Martin (LM) is looking for a hardworking Technical Lead to become a member of the Space Based Interceptor (SBI) team.

As the SBI Lead for the PNT, Space Security, and Multi-Domain Effects Mission Strategies and Advanced Capabilities organization, you will help establish the technical solution for cutting edge missile defense and Golden Dome for America (GDFA) interceptor systems. You will work directly with a team of Operational Analysts to specify, predict, and analyze SBI effects across a variety of mission scenarios and vignettes. You will perform architectural analysis to identify optimal solutions for Space Based Interceptors, and you will identify, scope, and lead technology development activities to fill SBI capability gaps. You will oversee the synthesis of an SBI and GDFA system that incorporates missile defense technology from Lockheed Martin, subcontractors, and suppliers with specific customer systems and customer furnished equipment. You will plan and lead the technical content of program execution, contribute to developing a long-term business strategy including identifying strategic investments, and assist in bidding and developing new SBI partnerships and programs.

You will serve as the subject matter lead for the MSAC organization for business development and captures related to space-based interceptor systems. You will be responsible for contributing to and leading proposal development activities related to SBI systems. You will interface with the customer and represent LM and LM’s interests before the customer.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
• Deep understanding of the missile defense mission
• Familiarity with the red kill-chain
• Ability to identify and define new technologies necessary to prosecute the missile defense mission
• Ability to elucidate a technical solution that solves key problems in missile defense
• Ability to lead or partner with a subcontractor to develop a technical solution that meets cost, schedule, and requirements
• Comfort communicating and interacting with military and government customers, their technical advisors, and other industry partners
• Availability to travel domestically
• Working level knowledge of program management principles to assist program manager in planning and executing work
• Familiarity with proposal development activities and ability to lead technical volume production
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey highly technical concepts in simple language

The SBI Lead’s responsibilities include:
• Perform, lead, and coordinate SBI operations analysis across the enterprise
• Identify and shape future SBI opportunities
• Implement a business and technology strategy to secure more SBI related business
• Represent Lockheed Martin in industry forums, customer engagements, and regional collaborations to advance our SBI solutions
• Support proposal development, including leading technical volumes and cost estimation for future SBI efforts
• Support program execution and facilitate delivery of SBI capabilities to the customer
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline
• Experience leading technical proposals and authoring technical volumes
• Experience authoring technical requirements, plans, or procedures
• Experience with missile defense programs, customers, and technologies
• Experience with MS Office applications and excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Skills:
• Experience with red kill-chain and kill-web analysis
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM and STK
• Experience with budget and resource planning
• Demonstrated experience navigating and managing inter-organizational relationships to achieve complex technical goals
• Experience with technology roadmapping, technology research and development, and technology maturation programs
• Familiarity with needs analysis, analysis of alternatives, and operational analysis techniques and processes
• Familiarity with requirements development, derivation, and decomposition
• Experience with performance analysis

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $141,300 - $244,835.
