Come join a group of diverse Engineers has a long history of supporting the Air Force Mission reaching back to the 1960's. Today's challenge is to support the modernization of the Minuteman Weapon System by crafting, building, testing and deploying new Reentry Systems and Ground Equipment that will enable the new system to perform for many years to come. This critical mission area must be done right, pass meticulous certifications and last for many years to come.

You will support the Nuclear Safety team across various Weapons Programs. As a Systems Engineer, you will directly help establish the technical solution and overall system design for one of our country's most vital and sophisticated strategic Systems! Your primary responsibilities in systems and nuclear safety engineering include:
• Support the assessment of system designs to confirm compliance with applicable safety design criteria, derivation of program-unique safety requirements as appropriate to specific system architectures and equipment designs, and independent verification of proper allocation and close-out of each requirement prior to customer delivery system deployment
• Apply DoD requirements and industry standards (AFMAN's, AFI-series, MIL-STD's, IEEE, Range Safety and more) applicable to the design and evaluation
• Follow technical guidance and interpretation of applicability of nuclear and system safety requirements to program-unique designs to LM team members, customer personnel, and safety approval authorities.
• Apply analysis techniques to assist developing comprehensive safety reports and regulatory compliance data packages needed to facilitate approval for system deployment / delivery
• Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Subsystem / System-level Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Bent Pin Analysis, and Software Safety Assessments
• Ability to present to customer management and safety control authorities the results of technical analyses and design solutions that demonstrate compliance aspects of the weapon system with applicable DoD customer requirements.
• Participate in mission-critical Flight Safety Reviews and Safety Review Boards
• Use the latest in MBSE tools and processes to generate synergistic models to establish linkages across verification artifacts and requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience and application of Systems Engineering processes and integration and test activities
• Knowledgeable of product lifecycle and exposure to nuclear weapons programs
• Knowledge of security specification requirements and controls
• Experience in system safety/nuclear safety engineering on US Air Force (USAF) or Navy Nuclear Weapons Programs and compliance strategies that integrate with DoD requirements related to Program Protection, Supply Chain Risk Management, and/or Cybersecurity
• Experience in developing Failure Mode and Effects Analyses, Subsystem/System-level Hazard Analyses, Fault Tree Analyses, Bent Pin Analyses, and/or Software Safety Assessments
• Experience in the application techniques for hardware, software, Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), or Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLDs)
• Active Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
• Engineering Bachelors degree from an accredited college
• Experience collaborating with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/ Department of Energy (DOE) National Labs on USAF Nuclear Weapons Programs
• Requirements assessment and/or management experience to include functional analysis, validation, allocation, and/or verification
• Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or disciplines outside of Systems Engineering
• Demonstrated experience working as a safety representative
• Organized, detail-oriented contributor with the ability to track, monitor, and achieve progress on multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
• Experience generating collaborative solutions with ability to resolve conflicts with tact and teamwork
• Experience with one or more of the following Systems Engineering tools: SysML/Cameo Magic Draw, DOORS, Architecture Framework such as DoDAF, Model Center
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a high-demand, fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated basic understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors
• Active Top Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
