Job ID: 693161BR Date posted: Jun. 03, 2025 Program: FBM LE2
Description:The coolest jobs on this planet… or any other… are with Lockheed Martin Space

Space is a critical domain, connecting our technologies, our security and our humanity. While others view space as a destination, we see it as a realm of possibilities, where we can do more— we can innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future.

What is the mission?

The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program is underway on a generational opportunity to develop and deploy the D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Missile which will sustain our Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) fleet for decades to come. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside our Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) partners to shape the future of our nation’s strategic deterrent as part of the nuclear triad.

Learn about the Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile.

What does this role look like?

The LE2 Program Integration & Baseline Control Lead role reports directly to the LE2 Program Manager (PM) and provides critical oversight to the program. The selected candidate will ensure the programmatic baseline is rigorously maintained during a period of dynamic change across the Strategic Weapon System (SWS). In addition, the candidate will manage Integration Projects and work to finalize Flight-level documentation and processes including Change Control Boards, Tech Baseline(s), and other planning.

Key interfaces will include various cross-branch customer stakeholders, LM Technical & Business Integration leads, Strategic Planning, and functional directorate stakeholders. Successful candidates will exhibit strong leadership and communication skills, ability to manage a diverse stakeholder set, dedication to the mission and LM business results, and highly organized work to maintain the necessarily alignment across many documents/procedures.

In this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities:

• Maintain the LE2 Programmatic Baseline: owner and gatekeeper of the LE2 Program Management (PM) Plan which defines the overall baseline of the program; ensure related documents (which have other owners) stay in alignment – these primarily include customer SWS PM Plan and Flight Tech Baseline, RAM/CWBS/WBS, as well as directorate Development and Requal Plans; this requires significant liaison duties across diverse and complex elements.

• Manage Integration Projects: these are items that span across program directorates (SEIT/AVI/PSOC), subprograms (LE/LE2/Mk7), customer branches (SP27/28), or contractors (LM/Draper) and require Program Office leadership to be successful; these will be high-visibility and high-impact items targeting strategic changes across the weapon system; support ROM development and trade studies for new items in consideration; manage planning factors and implement decisions made into the LE2 baseline.

• Implement Flight Documentation and Processes as Related to LE2: this is the layer that exists above Missile/Payload/Guidance and below the Weapon System where many key decisions are made that need to be formally codified; coordinate with SP201-27 liaisons and branch stakeholders to ensure decisions can be made effectively and that the baseline is well defined and communicated; act as LE2 liaison for SWS engagements.
