What does this role look like?
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Senior Program Manager who will serve as the deputy for the tactical avionics team, responsible for cost, schedule and technical performance on the FBM D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2), including direct customer interface.
As the Avionics Program Management Senior Manager, you will:
• Direct, coordinate, and exercise authority for planning, organizing, control, integration, and completion of D5LE2 Avionics products ensuring customer contract and company requirements are met through exceptional performance.
• Partner and collaborate with other FBM managers/leaders, IPTs (Integrated Product Teams) and with government and customer representatives.
• Work closely with a team of Cost Account Manager (CAMs), Finance & Business Operations(F&BO), Risk and Opportunity managers, subcontracts managers, and planners within and outside the Avionics directorate.
• Interface with Integrated Engineering Teams (IETs), functions and subject matter experts outside of FBM program engineering.
• Provide leadership in establishing D5LE2 Avionics subsystems architecture, models, and trade studies.
• Provide leadership in executing the D5LE2 Avionics sourcing strategy for commodities.
• Coordinate staffing and performance responsibilities, in coordination with HR and other FBM Avionics leaders and established processes to meet D5LE2 Avionics staffing needs.
This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical/Computer Science, or equivalent engineering degree.
• 10+ years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading project teams.
• Program Management experience (for example: finance, planning, contracts, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk/opportunity management, managing to performance metrics, and/or Cost Account Management (CAM) experience)
• Experience conducting major customer reviews (for example, SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
• 10+ years of program management experience.
• Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or relevant Graduate degree.
• Experience with proposals: proposal preparation, cost estimation generation, development of cost justifications, Basis of Estimate (BOE) generation, fact-finding, negotiations.
• US Strategic Systems Experience and/or FBM program experience.
• Missile/Space Weapons Systems Experience.
• Program Management of Avionics or Electronic products and life cycle management.
• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data.
• Experience across the engineering development lifecycle, including research & development, configuration control, requirements decomposition and traceability, technical performance measures, subsystem architecture and design and technology trades, implementation, integration, test and verification, manufacturing, deployment, and sustainment.
• Demonstrated experience in staffing and building a team and growing future talent pipelines.
• Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment.
• Knowledge of LMCO and LM Space programs and command media.
• Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong cross-organization relationships.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong full spectrum leadership with demonstrated ability in leading teams, strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proven self-starter with demonstrated capability to proactively work through difficult technical, project and resource challenges.
• Knowledge and experience in Lean Six Sigma processes and principles.
• Experience with model-based engineering (MBE) tools and approaches (e.g. CREO, FiberSim, etc.) including requirements tools such as DOORS.
• Experience with Data/Organizational tools (Tableau, Excel, MS Project).
• Experience with configuration management and program baseline control.
• Hands-on hardware experience coupled with strong understanding of Design principles.
• Experience in leading and conducting root cause investigations using standard tools (e.g., fish-bone, casual maps, etc).
• Familiarity with SysML diagrams tools (CAMEO) and engineering simulation/modeling tools (Zuken, CAD Tools, SPICE).
• Experience in Technology Trade Processes and Maturation (MRL/PRL).
• Understanding of Design for X (producibility, manufacturability, etc.).

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
