Lockheed Martin (LM) Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is looking for engineering professionals to work on the Trusted Security Solutions (TSS) program to engineer Cross-Domain Solution (CDS) products. This position is for a Systems Engineer/Installer on the Radiant Mercury product within the TSS program. Radiant Mercury is the US Navy's premier CDS product and LM has been the prime contractor for over 20 years.

The Radiant Mercury program delivers secure cross-domain solutions to our customers, enabling the controlled transfer of information between different security domains. This role is critical in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of these mission-essential systems.
WHO YOU ARE
Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer-IT to join our Radiant Mercury team. This role focuses on maintaining the security posture, compliance, and lifecycle management of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) hardware and software systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), system hardening, and network security principles, with the ability to ensure compliance with Raise the Bar (RTB) requirements and other cybersecurity standards.
THE WORK
The primary work location is at the Deer Creek Facility (DCF) in Littleton, Colorado with limited ability to work remotely. The candidate will primarily be required to come into the office or travel to customer sites to conduct their work.
Responsibilities
• Security Patching & Hardening: Execute quarterly RHEL operating system patching and apply security hardening measures in accordance with RTB requirements.
• Vulnerability & Compliance Management: Monitor, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities across supported platforms to maintain compliance with DoD and program security standards.
• System & Firmware Updates: Manage firmware and software updates across COTS servers and network devices, coordinating with vendors to ensure secure implementation.
• Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for security-related incidents, system outages, and customer inquiries.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate security checks, patching, and system monitoring.
• Testing & Validation: Support security and functional testing activities, including procedure development, execution, and documentation.
• Customer Engagement: Collaborate with customers to understand mission requirements and recommend secure system configurations within the Radiant Mercury framework.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, security controls, and remediation activities.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, system administration, or related technical role.
• Strong knowledge of RHEL system administration, patching, and security hardening.
• Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
• Experience with vulnerability management and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with COTS server hardware and secure configuration practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with cross-domain solutions or other security-focused technologies.
• Familiarity with virtualization and secure enclave environments.
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python) for security automation.
• CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570 baseline certifications.
• Experience providing cybersecurity support in classified environments.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
