Description:We are seeking a Technician Specialist to collaborate with lab and program engineering, test technicians, & supervision to ensure that materials processing, mechanism performance test, and TVAC environmental test objectives are successfully met.

Summary of Key Duties:
• Perform a variety of duties in electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical processing and testing of materials and mechanisms.
• Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
• Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
• Operate material processing equipment, mechanism performance test equipment, and thermal-vacuum environment equipment; conduct processing and testing and reports data in prescribed format.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of equipment and facility, configures test equipment, assembles and configures precision flight mechanisms for test; prepare and conduct prescribed test solutions.
• Spacecraft structure and mechanism thermal and thermal-vacuum environmental testing frequently occurs at the lab 24 hours a day 7 days a week for periods of approximately a couple of days to several weeks.
• Periods between these continuous operations can vary between approximately a week and a couple of months. You will be required to support these unique operational requirements.
• Control and monitoring of these environments requires a team of system operators working non-standard hours such as 1st 2nd or 3rd shift,
weekends, 12-hr or extended shifts, overtime, etc.

Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge, Understanding, Experience, or ability to learn:
• Interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams, detailed assembly drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, written and verbal instructions
• Material manufacturing, heat treatment, thermal conditioning, and load testing
• Servo hydraulic and thermal conditioning systems
• Pneumatic, cryogenic, and vacuum systems
• Spacecraft component qualification and acceptance test objectives and practices
• Supervisory control & data acquisition systems
• Assembly of spacecraft structures and mechanisms test set-ups
Desired Skills:
Knowledge, Understanding, or Experience with:
• Set up and test for TVAC testing
• Test instrumentation such as load cells, deflection transducers, load control;
• Programming of temperature and process controllers;
• Working to Manufacturing Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, Detailed Test Procedures;
• Spacecraft precision rotary actuators, deployment hinge and dampers, restraint and release mechanisms
• Basic understanding of or experience with Python coding language
• Basic understand understanding of electronic principals

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $49,400 - $86,940. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
