THE WORK

Key member of the C6ISR Undersea Warfare (USW) Business Development team in Manassas, Virginia responsible for the market analysis and early opportunity identification across the USW Program’s business development portfolio. The IDP Leader will be responsible for leading the strategy, planning and opportunity qualification for Submarine Advanced Development Integration and Production.

Plans and executes new business and program growth activities including opportunity assessment, capture management, competitive assessment and positioning, teaming/subcontracting strategy, and customer relationship development. Coordinates with other internal functional departments that are identifying/implementing business development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying resource requirements and developing capture strategies and marketing plans for new business and program growth pursuits. Communicates plans with senior management and represents Lockheed Martin in key customer, subcontractor and teaming meetings.

The role will have a unique combination of business development and product development responsibilities as well as leadership responsibilities with direct reports. Duties will include analyzing the technical needs of our military customer and developing business capture plans for our products and service offerings. We are looking for an experienced business professional with Undersea Mission area experience to assist with assessing, developing, and ultimately marketing and selling our new technologies. This BD leader will lead a team that will directly support our USW IDP Programs and will work with our engineering team to evaluate new concepts, products or solutions. This work will focus on innovative concepts that improve submarine combat system operators and decision makers' ability to rapidly access the tactical environment and make decisions. Emphasis is placed on submarine combat system architectures, acoustics, navigation and combat control. The BD leader will develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and other requirements including assessment of industry/commercial partners for submarine combat system trade studies and affordability.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must have understanding of the Undersea Warfare market environment and insight into the competitive landscape demonstrating the ability to assess approaches and candidate strategies.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Capture, BD, or related experience
• Experience in capture management
• Portfolio management of numerous critical pursuits in a large new business pipeline
• Experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and teaming
• Experience in milestone/EPP process; to include opportunity identification, developing business cases, and capture execution
• Business acumen, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, reliability, and sound judgment
• Execute New Business Updates that align with the USW and higher-level New Business Reviews.
• The ability to develop strategy, IRP, and LRP, coordinating through F&BO, P&L, engineering and other required functional areas
• Partner with LMGA, Global Business Development & Strategy, CETO, Corporate Treasury, and others as required
• Ability to rapidly respond to changing environments
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills,
Diplomatic, persuasive, and articulate communication style and presentation skills to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external customers / partners.
Desired Skills:
• Strong understanding of the Submarine Integration, Development and Production market and associated customer sets
• Experience in leading teams with backgrounds in Program Management, Capture Excellence
• Experience in management of programs of Software and Hardware development & integration
• Experience with AI/ML and related use cases for Acoustic and Sonar applications
• Understanding of 1LMX transformation processes and tools
• Expert in Strategy, LRP, IRP and capture activities
• Direct experience in building and tracking New business funds plan to support LRP
• Strong understanding of LM/RMS Win Plan

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
