What You Will Be Doing
Are you ready to take on a leadership role in advancing next-generation aerospace technology? Join our team as a Lead Quality Engineer supporting a high-impact special project within the Advanced Development Programs (ADP). In this role, you'll apply cutting-edge quality science techniques to ensure performance excellence and mission success.

As the quality lead, you’ll be responsible for driving process improvements, managing variation, and influencing cross-functional strategies that reduce defects, scrap, and rework. You’ll collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams while representing the voice of quality in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead quality engineering activities with minimal supervision, applying quality science methods to identify and eliminate sources of variation impacting quality, cost, and schedule.

- Analyze quality and cost data, conduct root cause investigations, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

- Drive continuous improvement through variation management, process control, and cross-functional quality strategies.

- Partner with supplier quality teams to ensure robust supplier integration and compliance.

- Serve as a key quality interface with internal teams and local customers, providing timely communication and resolution of quality issues.

-Champion initiatives that reduce defects, scrap, rework, and repair costs, enhancing program performance and efficiency.

- May mentor or guide junior team members as needed.

A level 5 employee Typically has 10 - 14 years of professional experience.
Basic Qualifications:
•Experience in one or more of the following
areas: quality engineering, quality assurance,
inspection, quality auditing.

• Experience with reading and interpret
engineering requirements and specifications and
apply their intent for evaluating acceptance of
quality products.

• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

•Experience with: Catia, 3DX or XVE

• GD&T Experience

• Design for manufacturing

• Experience with:
Internal surveillance (PCS/PBS/PPV)
Inspection Planning and Work Instructions
Inspection methods (MSA, gage R&R)
SPC, KC management (design and process KCs)
RCCA
Metrics development; analytics
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to work at all levels of the
organization to identify and drive systemic root
cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative,
qualitative analytical capabilities to communicate
and influence others in a concise, data driven manner.

• Excellent interpersonal skills needed for collaboration, communication, and presentations.

• Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System Requirements.

• Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.

• Excellent teaming skills; must interface with all levels of management, technical experts, and floor level personnel in a multi-organizational environment.

• Green Belt or Black Belt, CQE or CMQOE certification.

• Bachelors degree in technical discipline (Engineering, Math, or Science) (exceptions may be made for candidates with significant experience in root cause and corrective action, or if the candidate is a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) ).

• Experience with D/PFMEA, Process improvement tools (DMAIC, Six Sigma)

• AS9145 Experience

• Full Scale Determinant Assembly

•Supplier QA engagement

•Supplier performance management KPIs

• FAI experience

•PLM lifecycle knowledge

•Software QA integration

•Test, system checkout

•Composites (desired skill: fabrication of composites)

•Strong in Full Scale Determinant Assembly

• H&I development/design
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
