Rotary and Mission Systems' Training, Logistics & Simulation (TLS) business is Lockheed Martin’s center of excellence for training, logistics and simulation products and services, serving the U.S. military and more than 65 international customers around the world. Based in Orlando, TLS develops programs that teach service men and women skills to accomplish their most challenging missions — flying the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft, navigating ships and driving armored vehicles. TLS is the corporation’s hub for simulation, extended reality, live-virtual-constructive capabilities, advanced training devices and full-service training programs. TLS also provides sustainment services such as supply chain and logistics IT solutions, spares and repairs, as well as automated test and support equipment.
THE WORK
Within TLS Engineering & Technology (E&T), we’re driving forward strategic initiatives that link our technological advancements directly to business success. As the Air & Commercial Solutions (ACS) market segment chief engineering director, for the TLS line of business, you will lead ACS’ full lifecycle of technical development and execution. The ideal candidate must thrive at the intersection of technology and people leadership, for a dynamic, growing business. This role will report to the Vice President Chief Engineer for TLS.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Lead the overall development and implementation of the market segment technical strategy and product development approach
• Lead the technical, cost, and schedule execution of all market segment programs and pursuits
• Drive a culture of technical innovation across the market segment organization
• Drive common solutions across the market segment technical solution set through strategic product roadmap development & execution, with a goal to extend and connect that strategy to TLS, RMS, and LM
• Assess risk and implement root cause/corrective action plans, defining mitigation strategies and leading the organization through change
• Apply technical curiosity to ensure critical thinking is applied to solve complex challenges
• Lead and assess talent and organizational needs, team constructs and define a vision and priorities for all members of the E&T function. Provide clear requirements to other functions and subcontractors on what requirements need to be met to achieve successful technical execution
• The above must be achieved through partnering with the market segment program leadership, the TLS Engineering and Technology (E&T), and the TLS Center of Excellence (COE) leadership teams
This role will be located in Orlando, Florida with the opportunity to telework less than 50% of the time. The role includes 20% domestic and international travel.
Basic Qualifications:
• 15+ years of multi-disciplinary technical experience
• Demonstrated program technical execution experience
• Demonstrated ability to create a vision, build a team, and execute on that vision to create business value
• Experience leading large teams and demonstrated leadership skills
• Experience managing a complex portfolio of programs and contracts in various lifecycle phases
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance
• Ability to travel 20% including domestic and international
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related skill area; Advanced degree preferred
• Demonstrated executive presence and strong communication skills at all levels
• Proven experience leading teams with Agile or DevSecOps methodologies
• Experience with RMS TLS or familiarly with our products and services
• Strategy / Roadmap development experience
• Proposal development / capture leadership experience
• Experience leading product lines or early Technology Readiness Level (TRL) product transitions

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
