Job Responsibilities
Description:
You will be the Senior Sustainment Engineer for the F 35 EOTS Logistics & Sustainment Engineering (LSE) team. Our team drives material planning, depot repair support, and end user sustainment for the F 35 Electro Optical Targeting System, ensuring contractual obligations are met while continuously improving SAP based processes.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Sustainment Engineer you will own the end to end material lifecycle—from forecasting and budgeting to ordering, receipt, and disposal—working directly with the depot repair crew, digital transformation partners, and cross functional stakeholders. You will serve as the subject matter expert for SAP material ordering, bridge buy strategies, and obsolescence mitigation, while providing critical input to proposals and senior level reviews.
Your responsibilities will include
Monitor parts consumption, update repair databases, and manage material obsolescence tracking.
• Coordinate material budgets and replenishment schedules with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) points of contact.
• Create and place lay in, bench stock, and replenishment orders in SAP (or equivalent) and act as the SME for SAP ordering processes.
• Partner with the Obsolescence Team to execute bridge buys and lifetime buys, and streamline ordering workflows.
• Liaise with the Digital Transformation team to implement SAP enhancements and automation.
• Track order status, follow up with stakeholders, and ensure timely receipt of parts at end user locations.
• Prepare shippers and manage the Material Movement System, maintaining accurate reports and records.
• Collaborate with Engineering on new designs and obsolescence issues to mitigate future sustainment impacts.
• Develop and maintain material planning models, consumption forecasts, and cost estimates to support depot repairs and end users.
Contribute material expertise to proposal development, ensuring competitive bids.
• Generate routine and ad hoc reports, update weekly/monthly status charts, and present metrics to senior leadership.
• Interface with management on open orders, lifetime buys, and proposal inputs.
• Operate across contract types (FFP, T&M, T&E, PBL, BOA, IDIQ) and interact with diverse functional groups.
• Provide timely status updates to program points of contact and support overall sustainment Complete required training and uphold Lockheed Martin policies, initiatives, and standards.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong working first-hand knowledge of SAP, Inventory and parts ordering processes.
• Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks and interface well with other Program disciplines.
• Agile thinker with an ability to execute priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Basic knowledge of Asset Management System (AMS) and/or an inventory management system.
• Basic understanding of depot repair processes and sustainment principles.
• Awareness and/or experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
• Strong first-hand knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
