Job Responsibilities
Description:You will be the Thermal Analysis Mechanical Engineer for the Hardware Engineering Sciences team. Our team is responsible for developing thermal analysis for mechanical, structural, optical, thermal, and electronic systems and assemblies, driving innovation and excellence in our products.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Thermal Analysis Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and implementing thermal solutions for complex systems and components, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Researching and developing viable thermal and structural solutions for systems and components
• Creating and correlating analytical models to guide product development
• Conducting performance, structural, and thermal tests and measurements
• Reporting and documenting product structural and thermal performance
• Assessing design merits with regard to product specification and reliability
• Collaborating with materials and parts suppliers to select optimal materials and components
• Leading and mentor early career thermal analysts

This position is in Orlando, FL
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
Must have a minimum of 14 years of professional experience in Thermal Engineering or Thermal Analysis with knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics.
Experience with CFD solvers, preferably FloEFD 2021.3 (or higher) OR other comparable CFD pre/postprocessors. Experience with FEM solvers, preferably Siemens SimCenter 3D 2020 Thermal (or higher) OR other comparable FEM pre/postprocessors.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency in active thermal control hydraulics and refrigeration, as it relates in the Aerospace sector.
Demonstrated thermal test planning and
execution skills. Demonstrated strength in either thermal analysis with a desire to learn more. Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating test plans, test reports, documentation and potentially proposals are necessary. Experience interfacing and presenting to government customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with FORTRAN style input decks OR other comparable computer language. Experience with ablative thermal protection systems.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
