Description:Palmdale, CA based assignment managing approx. 20-25 Material Review engineers. Manager will be assigned the west coast segment of the MRB teams that includes F-35 edge production, F-22 Field component repair (Palmdale), F-35 Flight Test (EAFB,PAX River) and U2 Periodic Depot Maintenance (Palmdale – Site 2). Direct reports support the dispositioning of non-conforming material on the F-35 discovered in detail fabrication, at Build-to-Print suppliers, sub-assy through component delivery, and flight test operations. The F-22 task includes managing dispositions of Customer Repair Orders and spares. Task responsibilities may expand to add ADP teams locally and/or deployed teams in foreign nations depending on overall team global needs. Manager’s duties include daily task coordination, technical reviews and guidance of work produced by the team, interfacing with leadership on needs both locally and at remote sites, maintaining strong relationships with customers, maintaining staff forecasting, hiring or negotiating internal transfers, and deploying resources as necessary. Ensuring employees receive proper training and preparation for various assignments and managing logistics for employee deployments/reassignments. Manager is expected to monitor various performance metrics, and assist with establishing and/or refining MRB processes and policy. Some off-shift, weekend, holiday work hours should be expected. Position will require some travel (annual travel: 3-4 times domestically, 1-2 times internationally).
This role requires managing employees who participate in hands-on evaluation of non-conformances on aircraft and components, which may include climbing, working in confined spaces, working under low surfaces and handling parts in a fast-paced production/depot environment. The manager would be expected to be able to participate in these evaluations on a regular basis with the team.

A level 5 employee Typically has 8+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mechanical, aeronautical, or civil engineering. Equivalent engineering degree from an accredited college is also acceptable. Must have minimum 8 years of related design or MRB combined experience. Familiarity with LM Tools and Processes: QADS, Apriso, Solumina, ServiceFlo, SFM, PDM, CATIA, VAS, ALIS. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office suite.
Must be a US Citizen.
This position will require a Secret government security clearance.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
Strong leader and team player to develop and manage a high performing team of salaried professionals. Prior MRB certification and/or related design experience using aircraft composites, metals, systems wiring, fluid systems, ducting, or finishes on a 5th generation aircraft. A basic-to-advanced understanding of a wide range of engineering principles applied to high performing aircraft including structural load paths, strength and DaDT analyses. Familiarity with production processes, tooling, and methods of manufacturing.

Applicant should possess demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with USG Customers including local DCMA, JPO, Lightning Support Team reps, and/or SPO representatives.

This position is located at facilities that require special access. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security evaluation.

Applicant may be subjected to government evaluation for MRB certification.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $141,300 - $244,835.
