As a Software Systems Engineer, you will:



• Perform system analysis and software interface definition and management across weapon system elements

• Develop, maintain, and modify software code in C++ to support system analysis and software interface management, including embedded software and GUI components

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide regular system-level testing and troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues, including analyzing error messages and setting up test environments with necessary input files

• Maintain and update existing software tools and scripts to ensure compliance with security requirements and to enable automated data product generation

• Lead failure investigations and anomaly resolution boards

• Communicate effectively with program and customer management, including executive leadership, both extemporaneously and in formal reviews
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Software or Systems Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

• Experience in C, C++, java or python.

• Knowledge and application of software and/or systems engineering processes and one or more Systems Integration functions including:
• System trade studies and/or System modeling
• Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development
• System Integration, Test and/or Verification
• Test planning and execution with an understanding of all the interdependencies
• Design reviews

• Working knowledge or experience with system design and test with one or more subsystems (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Propulsion, RF, Software, etc.)

•Working knowledge or experience understanding hardware and software test scripts within a lab environment

• Active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with software systems design, development, integration, test, with knowledge of space, missile and launch systems at the component through system level

• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data

• Ability to interact with hardware and software developers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied

• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and tackle numerous roles as part of the daily program operations

• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change

• Other desired skill: HTML, Javascript, css, and Visual Studios

• Experience in Model Base System Engineering using tools like CAMEO or Rhapsody

• Active top secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
