Meet Travis - Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer
About Travis
Before joining Lockheed Martin, Travis graduated with his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida. While in college, he took internships in the aviation/defense industry, where he got the opportunity to climb inside the nacelle of jet engines, fly full motion flight simulators, and support a jet engine assembly line. By the end of these eye-opening experiences, Travis knew this industry was for him. When Lockheed Martin came to his college campus to recruit, he earned the opportunity to take on a full-time role working as a Guidance, Navigation, and Control engineer. Travis shares, “my role at Lockheed Martin puts me on the flight-line next to fighter jets and experimental aircraft – sometimes in them! As a person who loves aviation, I can say with certainty that I love what I do.” Travis is now working towards his master’s degree in aerospace engineering, and in his spare-time he enjoys going to car and air shows, rollerblading, 3D printing, and working on projects around his house with his wife.
Travis reflects on his career decisions, “I chose to join Lockheed Martin because I knew I would face the challenges that would make me a better engineer, and I stay because I am inspired by our team’s ability to overcome the impossible together."
