Lockheed Martin’s ATLO (Assembly, Test, and Launch Operation) organization supports the Space program by assembling systems, testing, and ensuring vehicles and spacecraft achieve 100% mission success. The innovative work we do at ATLO includes the spacecraft AEHF Constellation SV-6; satellites like the SBIRS GEO5 and GEO6 used by the military; and the Insight Lander that landed safely on Mars in 2018.
The ATLO team executes tests on vehicles as close to the environmental conditions as possible the craft will experience to mitigate any potential errors or challenges before it is launched. Beginning in 2019, we began launching the AEHF (Advanced Extremely High Frequency) Constellation satellite from our Cape Canaveral location to replace the function of five satellites, making communication more efficient, capable and cost effective. Our dedicated team focuses on cohesive testing on all our products to ensure they can face all potential conditions on earth, space and Mars.
