Job Responsibilities
Description:This position is part of the LM Aero Quality & Mission Success (Q&MS) organization and supports the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. As the F-35 Program Quality Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage a team of quality professionals to ensure the effective execution of quality functions to include Quality records/data quality, variation management, metrics & data analytics and product quality through customer delivery.
- Serving, in coordination with the Sr. Mgr, as the F-35 Quality interface between Program Office, Production Operations and Customer leadership to ensure commitment to and accountability for quality performance.
- Develop and implement quality strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management systems, including AS9100 and other relevant standards.
- Support the overall F-35 Quality organization in leading strategic initiatives spanning build areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production Operations, Supply Chain/Supplier Quality Management, Configuration Management, etc., to ensure quality requirements are integrated into product design, production, and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing, six sigma, and other quality improvement methodologies.
- Manage budget, staffing, and resource allocation plans to ensure effective use of resources and achievement of program/quality objectives.
- Foster a culture of Quality excellence, encouraging employee engagement and development to enable success in meeting program goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Experience in the fields of quality science and/or quality engineering.
- Ability to identify systemic root cause and drive effective, lasting corrective action
- Project management/leadership experience with demonstrated success in achieving key objectives; ranging from tactical issue problem solving to strategic operational excellence.
- Ability to respond to the challenges of a demanding, fast-paced production support environment.
- Experience interfacing with external customers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent direct work experience.

- Prior management or leader experience
- Understanding and experience with AS9100 based Quality Management System (QMS)
- Understanding and experience with AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Experience maintaining productive cross-functional & customer relationships with Program Management, Production Operations, DCMA, JPO, etc.
- Certification in quality management, such as CQE, CQM, or Lean Six Sigma certification
- F-35 Program experience/familiarization

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
