The Lockheed Martin Rotary Mission AI Hub team is responsible for developing strategies and implementing integrated, cross-functional solutions that transform operations through data-based decisions that deliver business-based outcomes. Our AI/ML Team is at the forefront of our digital transformation as they build data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning solutions to drive tangible business improvements. This position is for an A/AI Machine Learning intern.
As an A/AI Machine Learning intern you will be conducting experiments and building data science and AI/ML solutions utilizing the large sets of structured and unstructured data. You will be part of the entire data science lifecycle from ideation and exploratory data analysis phase through deployment and monitoring.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Apply and/or develop advanced scientific principles, theories, and concepts to identify meaningful patterns in data in sometimes ambiguous problem spaces
- Partner with your team to model complex business problems, discover insights and identify opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques
- Collaborate with your team to identify business opportunities and requirements to develop associated analytical models that deliver useful, actionable insights, or recommendations
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering.
- Experience with Python
- Strong communications skills
- Demonstrated collaboration skills
- Knowledge of IT tools and technology
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated application of skills either through internship experience or school projects
- Hands-on experience with software development, AI, data analytics or application development
- Geographically located near a Lockheed Martin site listed in this requisition during summer intern months.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
